OUR NARRATIVE

Standing in the forum of Ostia Antica. I’m looking here at the city’s main temple dedicated to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva; it dates from the early second century AD. There had been a public building on this spot for centuries before, and Hardrian built this on the same spot as its predecessor, which dated from the first century BC.
Built on a high podium and made of brick with marble facing, the marble has long been robbed away. Despite its sad state, it remains an impressive ruin.
