OUR NARRATIVE
The House of Marcus Lucretius at Pompeii is a large but irregular property which owes its unusual layout, on two different levels, to the merging of two previous houses. These two levels, with a total of 30 rooms, are joined by 7 steps shown here which leads to the atrium.
When excavated in the mid 19th century, a skeleton is reported to have been discovered on these very steps.
