OUR NARRATIVE

Even today, the first view of the Pont Du Gard aquaduct takes your breath away. The tallest of Roman aqueducts, it spans the river Gardon and supplied the fountains, homes and baths of the Roman colony Nemausus (todays Nimes in Southern France) with fresh water. Built in the 1st century AD and arguably the most impressive and best preserved example anywhere.
